Pre-con: Stroke in the Real World
This Feb. 6 pre-con will focus on stroke in select populations: women (including transwomen), individuals with cancer and the young. We will discuss how membership in these groups affects stroke incidence, presentation and care.

Moderated by Mollie McDermott, MD, MS, the morning sessions for Stroke in the Real World pre-conference symposium will explore:

- Race-Ethnic Difference in Risk Factors for Stroke in the Young
- Mental Health After Stroke in Women and the Young
- Stroke in Transwomen
- Hormone Exposure and Stroke Risk
- Management of Carotid Disease in Women
The afternoon sessions will cover:
- Acute Presentations/Treatment and Outcomes of Stroke in Women
- Epidemiology of Stroke in Malignancy
- Thrombolysis in Active Malignancy
- Second Stroke Prevention in Active Malignancy
- Immigration Status and Stroke
- Interventions for Stroke in Immigrant Populations
A separate registration is required to attend the Pre-Conference Symposia.
