“Our speakers will debate the best approaches for intensive care interventions in stroke patients such as ICP reduction, multimodal monitoring and timing of hemicraniectomy,” said Dr. McDermott. “Where clinical trial evidence is lacking, our speakers will provide their expert opinions on the best approach to these interventions.”
She said the sessions will review common ICU stroke management topics such as blood pressure management, post-intervention complications, vasospasm and anticoagulation reversal after intracranial hemorrhage. These reviews will be pragmatic and down-to-earth with a goal toward providing the audience with “clinical jewels.”
“Dr. Wein and I are excited about all of the talks. The pre-conference has a stellar group of engaging speakers who are experts and leaders in the field and who are going to provide a great overview about the past, present and future of neurocritical care — all in one day! We will leave the conference with clinical refreshers, brand new information and actionable learning points. We are looking forward to just sitting back and soaking it all in,” Dr. McDermott said.
